Greetings from the Dubai World Trade Centre! Welcome to the second issue of the CABSAT2007 eNewsletter!

This is one of a series of eNewsletters to keep you informed on the progress of CABSAT2007 - the leading tradeshow for the Middle East’s Satellite Communications, Cable, Satellite, Broadcast and Production industries.

CABSAT2007 will bring together professionals in the regional electronic media and satellite communications industry, creating a common platform for fostering networks and exchanging ideas.

NATIONAL GROUPS TO SHINE AT CABSAT2007
A total of eight national pavilions will be present at CABSAT2007 this year.

These national pavilions will host over 145 companies from China, Bavaria, France, Korea, Spain, Taiwán, Turkey and The United Kingdom under their wing.

Look out for internationally established names like Alcad, Ikusi, AEQ, Sachtler, Rohde-Schwarz, Kathrein-Werke, ARRI, Promedia, Gigasat, Advent Communications, Tanberg Televisión, Solid State Logic, Vinten, Thales Angenieux, Hybrid MC, Blossom, Sumec, Moteck, Powertech, GES, Sistek, DMCast and Intek.

 

FRENCH
For the 1st time Ubifrance organises the French pavilion at CABSAT. UBIFRANCE, the French Agency for International Business Development promotes French technologies, services and know-how abroad.

Capitalizing on its resources and those of the network of the Economic Departments of French Embassies abroad, the Agency support French companies in their efforts to penetrate foreign markets.

This year, 7 French companies will be on the pavilion:

 
  • Thalès Angenieux offers a full line of high precision lenses for a wide range of applications.
  • Hybrid MC, a pioneer in virtual studio technology, offers a full range of products and services to mix real and virtual images: HD/SD virtual set solutions and special effects hardware.
  • Tonna‘s main field of business is coaxial & optical networks (SMATV-CATV), multimedia Networks (TV over IP), access control and video surveillance systems.
  • Allegro provides MPEG -4 AVC/H.264 products (compliance stream, set top box certification service, real-time encoders and transcoders.
  • SGT is a leader in broadcast solutions with more than 300 TV channels installed with SGT products like transmission management, media management and traffic management systems
  • Ateme is a manufacturer / supplier in the field of digital video MPEG 4 encoding for a broad range of applications (mobile to HD real time encoding or transcoding, transcoding software for VOD, motion picture mastering, etc)
  • VDL is a dynamic and innovative actor for digital radio and mobile TV via T-DAB and T-DMB worldwide with its wide range of products (audio-video encoders and multiplexer)
 
SPAIN
The Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX) will host 14 companies under the Spain Technology for Life label, a brand which is designed to stress the quality and competitiveness of the products exhibited by our companies. Grown by three-fold, visitors will be delighted to find a broad array of the best technological solutions. Some of the fields with the most innovative products include the following:

BAVARIA - GERMANY
The Bavarian Pavilion will be participating for the sixth time this year and the group has grown by 20%. The Bavarian Pavilion will present 22 individual enterprises from Germany’s southern state in conjunction with the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs.

The companies will offer a wide range of products and services such as Professional film and video equipment, camera support and lighting, RF components for mobile communication and Radio/TV broadcasting, components for signal distribution HD-Players and HD Streaming server, Satellite reception systems and reception antennas, New Media and many more.

Establish future business partners, renew existing contacts and talk business. Visit the Bavarian Pavilion in Hall 2, Booth C2-21 and surrounding blocks.
 
PRODUCT SHOWCASE @ CABSAT2007
Autodesk - Stand C1-21
Autodesk will be showcasing the Autodesk Lustre 2007 digital grading system which offers real-time grading capabilities using graphics processing units (GPUs). It also allows colourists to collaborate with visual effects and finishing artists, promoting creativity and speeding up projects.

Alongside Lustre, Autodesk will also be showing the Autodesk Smoke 2007 editing and finishing system and the Autodesk Flame 2007 visual effects system.

Noorsat – Stand H3-31
NOORSAT, the third satellite operator in the Arab world, is currently broadcasting a total of 13 TV bouquets on its DTH platforms on its three satellites through fully owned teleports in Bahrain, Greece, and other media cities.

NOORSAT, the only satellite operator with direct access to both TV Hotspots; 25.8° East and 7° West, serving the Arab World. Existing TV dishes can receive NOORSAT TV transmission without the need for re-pointing or addition of equipment.

NOORSAT has established a digital DTH TV platform carrying a variety of attractive Arabic TV channels targeting the Arab and ethnic expatriates in Europe on its NOORSAT 3 (AB 2) at 8° West satellite.
